After a really, really frustrating and infuriating appointment at a Boise allergist, who shall remain nameless... I emailed my good friends at National Jewish and sent them Morgan's test results. After being told in Boise, "She'll never outgrow anything" by nameless doctor (in front of a lobby of people, oh hey, hipaa) we were ecstatic that they felt it was worth a trip to check some things out... Because there was a chance we'd be sent home after a day or a chance we'd be there over a week, we drove. That my friends was a mistake, but the rest of the trip... SO WORTH IT!
Pics of out order, of course. But what you see here is Morgan making a list of everything she successfully food challenged to.
You make a lot of friends while sitting for 10 hours straight and no windows. This little buddy was a food challenging machine. He and Morgan gave each other a lot of encouragement when things got scary....
Vitals, vitals, vitals... oh and more vitals. Docs and nurses at NJH do not mess around and I will forever be thankful for that!
And the final list... Almonds, Sunflower Seeds, Crab, Shrimp, Baked Eggs, Pecan and Walnut... WHOOP!
In case you are curious, it is nearly almost impossible to find non-cross contaminated nuts to food challenge to. But we did and she passed. If you want to know what I look with a blood pressure at a borderline pass out level and with a green face from nervousness, watch me watch Morgan do food challenges!
This girl... Really, really something. And with a new rug for her room.
Lots and lots of time in this tv. room. Are you starting to see why Morgan and I were literally a little bonkers after this trip? I haven't sit that much since I was in my mother's womb. Seriously!
Our very most favorite nurse ever. Also a student nurse and we give her an A. She was paranoid so I didn't have to show that I was too.
Morgan had to do this test one billion times... But it's nice to know if the lungs are working when you are eating things that can make them cranky.
Skin prick test to baked eggs. Right before we fed her baked eggs. Um, yeah, a little nerve wracking, just a little.
Coach, she got lots of touches in. Just kidding, this was the extent of it!

We did make time to see a wildly inappropriate movie. But when you almost pass out from so much blood being taken, your mom becomes one big sucker.

And being the #1 respiratory hospital in the country leads to probably lung functioning tests that weren't needed. But we needed something to do while sitting, sitting, sitting. I wanted to join her.
Canned crab anyone?
Sometimes we mixed up our view by sitting in our hospital room. Oh the glamour.
"We never say never." That's right. They really don't. We'll be back in a year to "get" all eggs, PEANUTS and more nuts... That is, if all goes as planned.
You know what's a good idea, driving to Denver after a Saturday soccer game and staying at a hotel along the way. You know what's a bad idea? Driving home from Denver straight through to Boise after an incredibly long, tiring, emotional week. But we survived (and now we know!)
Morgan was asked upon check in what she likes to go by. She said, "Awesomeness." So her nurse provided her with hydration fitting with her name.
Oh the hot dogs at NJH, we meet again!
That, my friends is what you don't want your back to look like after food skin prick testing...
And we're home! The boys and Baylee were happy to see us, we think! 3 a.m. means we made pretty good time if I do say so myself....
What a trip it was... And happy to say, we'll be back Denver. Words can't express what that place has meant to us, truly life changing!!!!
