McCall Summer Fun!

We joined the Hamiltons, the Ramstads and Ms. Karen Montano for a weekend of sun, water-sports and laughs up in McCall! Good times were had by all... as evidenced by the massive amount of drool pooled at the floor of our car on the way home, due to all of the sleeping going on. The highlight of course, was Morgan skiing for the first time! She's been harassing us ever since to take her to Lucky Peak so she can have another go at it!

And she's off! A proud mama in the water clapping her hands off like a deranged seal. Go Morgan!

Aidan's thinking, "I don't need no skiing to have a good time. I just need to be naked." (He did have pants on, don't worry, our exhibitionism is getting better!)

Morgan joined Daddy again wake-surfing. Big smiles. These two are best buddies.

Morgan and her other buddy, Meredith.

Beach scene! Thanks Hamiltons for hosting another fun mini-cation for us!

Got Veggies?

We do! Our garden is going bonkers this year... I'd like to take credit but I think it has more to do with the work the previous owners went to creating the raised beds, soil, yada, yada, yada! Anyway, if there are any disasters where the grocery stores are closed and all that jazz, come on over to Casa de Kearney for some eats!

Mini Me Strikes Again

Little does Morgan know that when I was her age, I loved nothing more than to put together the craziest and silliest outfits I could find and then revel in the reaction I got from family and friends... So obviously it brings me great delight to see Morgan doing the EXACT same thing! We had another fun weekend in Boise, two trips to the pool, a trip to Roaring Springs and a pool party. Two days packed with water! I'm not sure who's more tired, me or the kids... Judging from these pictures, I am going to guess it's not Morgan who's the most tired!

Yep, that's our girl... It isn't easy being awesome.

Hi guys... Just being cool!

Such a goofy girl!

National Jewish Here We Come.... Date yet to be determined!

As I have made all of you painfully aware on multiple occasions, we have been engaging in an almost six year battle with eczema, severe food allergies and now asthma. Morgan is technically the patient and not to minimize what the poor bunny goes through, we are all affected emotionally by her ailments. We have grown extremely tired of having medical professionals scratch their heads, hope she'll outgrow her afflictions and prescribe another round of costly and for the most part ineffective medications, all of which have potential side effects, of course! So the Kearney fam has taken matters into our own hands. We have been approved to participate in an intensive outpatient medical program, where we'll focus on a treatment regimen that will alleviate her eczema (yay, no more rude comments from strangers!!!!) and then we'll work to identify the triggers and either narrow her food allergy list or expand it. We'll be with some of the leading medical professionals working on these issues. She'll also receive some art therapy and counseling to help her in dealing with the emotional side of being "different" from her buddies. To say we are ecstatic about being able to give our little girl this opportunity is an understatement.... The poor program coordinator gets at least one phone call per day from me asking if it's time to get scheduled. What she keeps telling me is that it will most likely be sometime in September (but I am pushing for August, so Morgan can start school with clear skin!) Wahoo! We are so lucky to be able to participate in this program...

Our soon to be home away from home. We'll be there at the very least two weeks... Watch out Denver, there are two Kearney ladies coming your way!

I stole this picture from another patient's blog, who attended the program. Morgan will be wrapped for at least the first couple of days there. I'm sure she's going to love that!

Aidan + Tractor = HEAVEN!

On our massive trek back to Boise, we stopped to see Jim, Beth and the Fosseen Kids. However, my camera was tucked away due to me being very concerned with getting my IV of coffee at Starbucks, so no pictures:( It was fun to see our ever-growing Fosseen niece and nephews! Then we ventured over Snoqualmie Pass and stopped in at the B & D Ranch for a little tractor ride and to stuff our faces with strawberries.

Don't you love Aidan's basketball shorts? Kind of reminds me of that American Idol "Pants on the Ground" song..

This is the stuff dreams are made of (if you are Aidan anyway). The smile on his face was so big, it must have hurt. Thank you Papa Bob for making one little boy extremely happy. (p.s. Papa Bob visited Boise recently and was telling Aidan his adventures of working in the woods as a logger. Every once in a while, I walk in on Aidan talking to himself, saying such things as, "You wanna know what? My Papa Bob used to drive diggers all day long and used to chop down trees bigger than 'dis house. Pretty cool." Yes, Aidan, you should be proud of that guy!!!

It was a Lake Ki 4th of July!

We just got home from another fantastic trip to Lake Ki to visit the Foster side of the family. Unfortunately, the weather was down right uncooperative, but even with that, we had a great time. Luckily our crazy banshee children didn't mind the cold and rain and were so exhausted, Morgan had to be woken at 10:30 a.m. one morning (that would be 11:30 a.m. Boise time). Yep, we got a glimpse of the teenage years and it was awesome! (Minus the puberty, snottiness, know-it-all, my-parents-are-dumb, I'll-show-them stuff anyway!)

Grandma D and her girl (after we woke Morgan from her loooonnnggg slumber)

Papa J and his boy. These two are trouble. There was a lot of talks about racing cars and hunting trips. Seriously.

It's wonderful when your family can double as your friend. These four are something else.

Here's an idea. Go to Boom City, buy some fireworks, better yet, buy the ones packaged to be really cute and geared towards young kids and then STRAP IT TO A 3 YEAR OLD'S BACK. Again, I ask, where is this kid's mom?

Morgan has FINALLY realized that she and Cassie have A LOT in common. Trouble, trouble, trouble. But they sure will look cute while causing it.

The whole gang! The ever expanding Fosters! Please note the precious Max and adorable Evelyn. Aunt Sarah is a BIG fan of her new niece and nephew, love them....

Kayak Point. The kids have seen salt water, okay now what?

The Camping Kearney's

It was another successful camping trip for the Kearney/Bordner family (also known as the 'Bordneys' or even the 'Keardners' on occasion). We are so lucky that one of our favorite places to be (the outdoors) is completely free (minus the boat to get there, but hey, let's not be nit-picky). We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends to slum it with on the shores o' Lucky Peak.

Buddies on the tube. Oh the places these two will go...

Funny girl Payton. And I mean funny, this kid cracks me up.... She's my kind of girl, has a little mind of her own.

These two are developing quite the little friendship. Aidan tries to talk 'baby talk' to Payton and the 'huh' look she gives him is priceless!

Morgan recently gave her cousin a BFF necklace, you know the kind where there's a heart broken down the middle and each person has one side of it. I think these two might need one of those.

Sorry Jeremy, I had to steal him for a second... Nothing better than the kids snug as a bug in the tent, some adult beverages and lots of laughter with J and K. Now if we could only get the Cleveland Browns to relocate to Boise... hmmmm. I wonder what I need to do to make that happen?
