Rounding third on 2017!

Cue broken record of how is 2017 almost over???
It's been a year of being spoiled with some pretty great memories... Morgan and Grace win best costume award!

And Morgan wins "getting-our-moneys-worth-from-that-costume." Chores are more fun as an obese sumo wrestler. I know, I've been one. The result was Morgan and Aidan. Get it?
Not to be left out of the costume wearing is our pup. That's my t-shirt. Finally! Someone to share clothes with!!!

We took the kids to a Warren Miller film and now we are all hyped up for ski season!! And we are also dreaming of Kalen Thorien's life. She was one of the skiers in the film and is a professional adventurer. I have to admit, she was pretty cool. And I know cool (wink). Also, one of her posters was of her on the Kearneys most favorite Brundage run, Hidden Valley. See, cool!

And then we were super spoiled by getting to have the Headlees for the whole Thanksgiving weekend. I tell you what, I am thankful for that! What fun we had!
I mean, I love the parents and all, but their girls!! Oh their girls, sweet and fun as can be...
And then we were reminded that although we like each other, we are bitter rivals to the end... I kid, but GO DAWGS!
Boise showing off...
And also very Boise. We threw an Apple Cup party and imagine hearing the kids say, "Someone just shot a deer in the neighbors yard!" Turns out it was Boise Police and the deer was severely injured. But still.. Only in Idaho!

Of course I didn't take these pretty pictures! Credit to the uber talented and often sumo costume wrestling Morgan.

I told you we got our moneys worth out of this costume.

A whole lotta Cougs and Huskies up in this joint!

A trip downtown and movie day of Wonder. Don't wear mascara if you watch it.
Look at these lovely ladies. With personalities to match those sweet faces!

And that's a wrap!

No REALLY My Last Soccer Post of 2017....

I mean it this time... Just like I meant it when I said no more chocolate eating before 9 a.m.... This is my last soccer post of 2017, but it's also a Father/Son Vacation, so it only kind of counts as soccer post...

Aidan's team traveled to Las Vegas for a tournament and from the sounds of it, fun was had by all (despite what the scores were). There was tough competition and our boys did great!!!
*sigh* I remember a little blonde hair, chub a lub with a "do-do" in his mouth playing on these toys as a babe.
So many things to see in Vegas. I'm just glad that some of the things were PG rated!
I'm not bitter that the boys didn't bring me home any chocolate. No, not at all.... My memory is long guys.
Pool time was a hit!
As was Top Golf!
A great group of kids!!!
I'd like to take credit for the door decorating, but that would be a much more organized mom than I!
Aidan called this area of the hotel, the "back yard." It sounds like it was a kids' heaven and there was a bar. So dads were happy too. Vegas for the WIN!

The things that make a 10 year old boy smile!
While the boys were eating their body weight in sugar and having a great time, Morgan and I held down the Boise soccer fort... And we were thrilled to see that our thyroid struggling, food allergy afflicted (right??? What is the matter with us Kearneys??) dog was starting to feel so much better... I took her for an evening walk and was thrilled to see her running around and playing with a stick. That is, until I got to the front door and noticed it was a deer leg. Awesome.

Misc.

The last post to get this thing all caught up... But some pictures just had to be added...
Of course another soccer pic, because that's all we do. No really, it is!
But sometimes we do also watch late night Coug games. The Kearney family would like to accept any and all praise and commendation for that win. Because clearly they won because of Aidan's forcing of the family to sit, knees up, visor upside down for an hour.... You are welcome Coug nation.
Love having to walk a dog each evening and see the pretty sunsets!
Morgan and I ventured back to Jackson Hole for another tournament. A game on a polo field? Sure! The beauty was unmatched the moose poop everywhere was interesting.
Remember that girl on America's Got Talent? Nope, not even a close impersonation.
More cross country. The meets are HUGE!
But our girl has rocked it!

Ryan was gone for a week and a half and our nutrition was on point.
Some days I wish we could bike to downtown without having a monster hill to go back up... But then this view!!!
Remember how I previously mentioned Ryan was gone for a week and a half. Turns out we need him around here, things get a little weird in his absence.

More Gem State...

Once again, thanks to Michael Tobin for the pictures! We are lucky enough to have two kids who are the same age as his and manage to get them on similar teams! Win for us in the photo department!
Morgan has had such an incredible year and has found her spot as a mid-fielder. So proud of her and all the work she puts into this sport!
2nd Place finish, not too shabby!
She may be mini, but she is mighty!
Championship game line up....

Iphone version of championship game line up!
How Morgan's coach Josh deals with 18 13 year old girls is beyond me.... Godspeed Josh.

Gem State Champions!

Both kids participated in the Gem State Tournament and after logging 16 hours on the soccer field, we were happy to come away with one first place finish and one 2nd place finish! But since my posts get a little Morgan heavy at times, this one is devoted to AJ! He played so well and we couldn't be prouder of our buddy!
Such a great group of boys!
A huge thanks to Michael Tobin for these incredible pictures, even though his son is on the other Rush team, he took some great shots of our boys!

Because we have two teams, sometimes they have to play each other in tournaments, which is such a bummer. Aidan and Hudson have been playing on the same team since kindergarten, so kind of odd to see them playing against each other...
And Aidan and Toby are such great buddies, but they play so hard against each other at game time!

Semi finals ended in a tie... Which led to penalty kicks. Which led to me not really looking because I can't handle the stress of it. But AJ for the goal!

Tournament time was followed by the best after party! The Hulquists were kind enough to host both teams in their pool and lovely backyard. I knew I was headed toward the right house as I was pulling up and could hear 20 little boys yelling at the top of their  lungs. They have kind neighbors.

Soccer moms! I couldn't imagine a better group of ladies to freeze with, get wind burned with, to cheer with and to laugh with!
