What Can't He Do???

When I met Ryan, I fell in love with him because he was sweet, funny, oh so funny, adventurous and charming... I had no idea he'd turn into this gem: is a "super daddy" every minute of the day, still fun and adventurous, Summit Award winner at work AGAIN (stay tuned for vacation details), a constant cheerleader (a very manly one of course), Mount Rainier climber and on and on and on and now movie maker....

I'm so glad he's taking the time to document our fun times! Enjoy...

Sick Day Shenanigans...

Aidan's home today with a never-ending cough. And I mean never ending... But no fever, so overall, he doesn't feel to bad, he just can't do much. So what to do for the day?

First, he taught me how to make the "perfect" machine gun sound. (Apparently, I'm a slow learner). Then we practiced our drop and cover skills in the event that our t.v. remote becomes a bomb. (You can't practice that just once). And now, the little man has decided to devote his current life's savings and future earnings to help abused animals. Sarah Mclachlan, if this means that I will never be an empty nester because all my son's money has flown out the window, I'm coming for you. Well played, ASPCA, well played.

And now we're on to giant valentine making. Curious what the next couple of hours before picking up Mo-mo will bring...

Private....

Hello Loyal Kearney Blog Followers... And by "Loyal Kearney Blog Followers," I mean the two of you... Ha, kidding! It's time. I've debated this for a while and I've been silly to not do this before. But we're going private. I know, I know...It's always such a bummer when you are trying to snoop on someone and get blocked. BUT, it's time for us to start blocking... Given the nature of my work, it just makes the most sense. SO... Once I figure out how to set our blog to private, I'll be doing so! I'm more than happy to have our peeps peeping in on our happenings, so let me know if you'd like to be included!

Reckless Kelly!

We had such a FUN Friday night, I had to post about it for memory sake! The Skene's organized a "Reckless Kelly" palooza and we had a blast. I now get why they are such huge fans, such a fun band!!

After dinner/drinks, it just made sense to get in the back of Chase's truck and go to the concert. Right? No, really, it did make sense... At the time. (I have no idea where these bunny ears came from, but not to worry, their stint was brief! Proving once again, Heather is a kindred spirit to this old gal.)

Just another Friday night in Idaho. Why yes, these two "love birds" have a pheasant feather over their heads. Idaho. Remember?

And the band! We had fantastic seats! Not only did we get to see the band in action, we had another show in the form of a first date profess their love for each other, in a very wrestling/dancing kind of way. Oy vey. Afterward, we hit the Reef and the fun continued.  I laughed, I interpretive danced (I see a future for Heather, Kirstin and I), I watched really awkward 20 year old boys try to dance with Heather and I laughed some more. What a FUN night, so glad I have these friends!!!

Innovation... SUCCESS!!!!

Morgan's class recently held an "innovation fair," where the kids were presented with the task of developing something that society "needs" and doesn't already have... They could improve upon an already created idea or they could start from scratch. Of course, Morgan decided to develop an idea from scratch... Hmm... What to do???

We often say that Morgan has a "speaking disorder," as in she. does. not. stop. talking. EVER! Which for the most part is fine, the things that come out of her mouth are priceless. Such as, "Mommy, someday when I break up with a boyfriend, I am going to say, 'Listen up ya'll, cause this is it. The beat that I'm bringing is, you go bye bye.'" Seriously, who is this kid? But I digress, the speaking disorder has become an issue at meal time. We have made a stance that we are tired of seeing Morgan's chewed up dinner while she recounts every single event of the day. So wahla! The "Chew Guard" was created! You can talk with your mouth full and no one will be the wiser!

And GUESS WHAT?!?!? This little "innovation" was selected in the top 5 of her class and our little innovator will be advertising her goods at the Discovery Center of Idaho, at a date to be determined. Is our little gal excited, YES!!!! And are we proud, YEP!

Why yes, those are braces on the "Chew Guard."

Crashing in SV....

As is becoming quite the tradition, when Mema and Papa come for the kids' birthdays, we hit the road to Sun Valley. We always have such a blast, enjoying the outdoors, fantastic food and lots and lots of laughter...

I gave up my "jammie Friday" with the kids and instead hit Baldy! We skied so hard all day and I kept thinking to myself, I'm going to get hurt.... Not to worry, no crashes for this girl on the slopes.

The hotel shower was another story. I didn't come out so lucky. Awesome, just awesome. The hotel shower soap dish and my head had a little meeting.
Going out to dinner and being seen around town with this little number was a treat! I felt like everyone was staring at me, but Ryan pointed out that he was getting more stares...

Finally 6!

It's happened, Aidan's 6! I can't even believe for a second that my BABY is 6... Forever in my mind, he's going to be my little grumpy old man baby. But alas, if you can't beat it, join it. So we celebrated!

Aidan love, love, LOVES when the house is decorated! Streamers and balloons are his favorite...

So Mema and I didn't leave an inch uncovered so that Aidan would wake up a decorated wonderland. Meanwhile Ryan participated in ipad 101 with the other Mr. Kearney. Actually to be fair, it was more a 200 level class.

After school, we loaded up some buddies and hit Jump Time.

If there is anything cuter than Kindergarten little boys, I have yet to see it. The wrestling, the giggling, the silliness. Too fun.

Look at these sweaty little faces, so sweet!

Our birthday boy, love him to the moon and back!!
