Girls Ski Weekend!

I just returned from a FUN girl's weekend trip! How lucky am I am to have such a fantastic group of ladies to ski with, laugh with, eat too much with and enjoy too many cocktails with? A huge thank you to Molly for hosting a wonderful weekend!

Some of the ladies enjoying Shore Lodge!
Mama has to check on her babies... All was well in the Kearney household. Ryan and Jeremy teamed up in their parenting and also worked put their heads together for some late night discussions on how to solve some of the world's problems. Thanks you two.
Mmmm... cocktail!
While we were all impressed with the incredible number of bathroom options on the hill at Brundage, Molly wasn't too impressed with the smell. BUT when you are skiing with a group who has had children, multiple bathrooms, stink and all, are a necessity!
Beer and chili at the lodge, can you beat it? Nope.
The gals. I'm on the far left, staring into space. I was a little tired the first couple of runs and had to remind myself what I was doing. Fantastic snow and conditions, probably the best I've ever skied. A huge sorry to my husband, I did have some guilt he didn't have the same powder on his guy's trip.
The ladies, reminiscing and laughing on the previous night's fun and ready for some skiing!
Laura at 36 weeks prego wins the "best sport" award! I was prepared to deliver "baby Doug" if I had to, I have watched a lot of "Teen Mom" and TLC's "A Baby Story," just give me some boiled water and newspaper and we'd be set. Fortunately for Laura, Baby Doug stayed decided against this. Here's Laura modeling her "body pillow" and no, she's not really naming her son Doug, but I will still continue to call him that. Sorry.
Oh how I love these ladies. They make me laugh and are just too fun.
Such a fun weekend! Thank you ladies!!!

"Wanna Know What's Awesome Mama?"

I haven't purposefully tried to turn this blog into a "look what crazy outfit my child is wearing today" forum, but with the children I am raising, I just can't help it. On Wednesday, after picking Aidan up from school, we had an hour to spare before picking Morgan up from kindergarten so we took refuge from the snow in a Starbuck's for some coffee, cookies and story time. Mid-book Aidan looks over at me and asks, "Wanna know what's awesome mama? My outfit."

On another note, the next day we got in the car to run some errands and Aidan RAN to grab his helmet for the car ride. What is he trying to tell me about my driving? Hmmmm.... I have a feeling when the roles are reversed and he's getting behind the wheel in 12 years, I will be running for my helmet too, so no hard feelings buddy!

Super Aidan!

If we are in regular contact, you have probably heard me mention that Aidan has developed a penchant for wearing a super hero cape EVERYWHERE he goes... The trip to Cleveland was no exception! Airport goers had to zig out of this guy's way because he was flying through the airport.

No super hero cape is complete without some Car's stickers, is it? Why not add a couple while you wait for your airplane...
One really happy little super hero.

100 Day Celebration!

Morgan recently had her 100 celebration at Kindergarten! I can't believe how fast this year is going and how much she has changed.... She's grown in ways that I never even fathomed and is making us so proud every day, whether it be with her art, her creativity, her growing musical talent, her intelligence or her kind heart, we're just super lucky parents (and also wondering if she was switched at birth, ha, kidding, she's crazy like her mom!).

Morgan and Ryan put this together, they had to display 100 small things in a creative way. I'm glad they are creative because who knows what I would have come up with!

**Also notice that Morgan has FINALLY been letting me do something to her hair besides a hair clip. I'm bribing her with a hamster, even though I am deathly afraid of rodents. I just hope she doesn't try to cash in for a while!

Self Portraits...

Aidan loves or "lubs" the camera, not necessarily us taking pictures of him, but him taking pictures of EVERYTHING. I have to constantly empty the contents of my memory card because it is constantly jam packed with the most random assortment of pictures. Most of the pictures are horrible shots of me cleaning the house or of all of our furniture at different angles. No wonder I delete them. Here are three "keepers" though!
I don't really know what to say about this picture, but it makes me laugh really hard every time I see it.
And again.

And my favorite one of the bunch. How we "lub" this kid!

Go Browns!

We had a reminder on our trip to Cleveland that Tom has a waaaaayyyy cooler job than anyone we know. We got to tour the training facility for the Cleveland's Browns and see Tom's office. FUN!

The interview Mckenna gave Morgan in the media room was hilarious.... Mckenna quizzed Morgan with math questions and she didn't miss a beat. Her mom must have been a math teacher! Morgan's mom obviously wasn't because her answer to one of the math quizzes was "I have no idea!"
Go Browns, whoop whoop! I'll never watch a press conference in quite the same way!
Morgan was cracking me up. She tapped on the microphone, asked "is this thing on? Okay, here is the deal-e-o."
This girl just cracked me up!

Hut, hut, hut!

These girls were inseparable! I'm excited for our next get-together and see this friendship grow!

CLEVELAND!

We just returned from a fantastic trip to Cleveland... There were so many laughs, I don't even know where to begin. The kids played non-stop, which let the adults do some great catching up. We are missing the Headlee's already, how lucky are we to have such wonderful friends?

The kids were excited for the trip, but little did they know how much fun they were going to have. We've had multiple requests to move to Cleveland.

We even went swimming!

Hours, literally hours were spent with the girls in rollerblades and the younger ones on scooters. Thank goodness the Headlee house is big, there was a lot of activity that home had to contain over the weekend !

And arts and crafts... Deborah wins most creative/organized mom award. The kids LOVED it!

Aidan not only liked Ava, he LOVED Ava or "Aba" as he lovingly referred to her as. Not only has he asked to move to Cleveland a billion times since we've been back, but we've had multiple requests for "Aba" to become our baby. Sorry buddy, the Headlee's are rightfully so pretty enamored with this little lady!
Fun in the great indoor pool/play area!
And these two ladies.... TOUGH. At wii bowling anyway.... Do you like our tough faces, and my cardigan that was trying to double as a half shirt. I had strep throat, give me a break!

And Ryan and I won the worst packing award. The weather forecast made NO mention of snow, so we were a little (or a lot) unprepared for the dumping we had. Hence Ryan is in the pink hat. And Morgan in our rush out the door, didn't even have a coat. Thank goodness the Headlee's had plenty of "girl stuff" for her to borrow!

We tried to wear them out in the snow, but these kids were unbelievable in their energy level. They just had a blast!

The Ticket!

We found the golden ticket! We've figured out how to get Aidan to ski and to like it! Remember back on Christmas day, we skied as a family of four and had a GREAT time... Then Morgan started lessons and Aidan was stuck with mom and dad for some time on the slopes. Let's just say it wasn't quite the hit it was on Christmas. Then this past weekend, we skied as a family of four again and realized that it wasn't that Aidan doesn't like skiing, it's that he doesn't like skiing with his boring parents! He likes skiing with big sister and other kids, phew! We were wondering what we were going to do with the little guy..

Ryder and Morgan taking a much deserved break (also known as waiting for the slow pokes because these kids are fast!)
Look at this gaggle of skiers! Love it! (Aidan's the short one!)

There goes our little buddy! Look at that blue sky, can you beat it?

As any parent who believes in bribing would do, we celebrated with dinner out and a trip to the best candy store in town!

A New Baby?

I love this boy, I really do! Even with his current "Kate Goslin" hairdo (as pictured here), I just think he's the cutest little thing. That being said, I can't say I was in love with the moment when he lovingly patted my stomach and asked, "Is there a new baby in your tummy?" Um.... no Aidan, there's not. But I am glad I have been religiously working out for the past four weeks, it must really be paying off! I mean, at least he didn't ask when the baby was coming out, as though I looked like I was 9 months pregnant or something!

New York Fashion Week?

When is it? Really? I've got a sure fire contender who can really blow out all the other fashion designers.... If you have seen Aidan in the past three week, I'm certain you have seen this Star Wars shirt. And the combinations he throws together? Designers are quaking in their boots at the thought of Aidan giving them some competition, that would be camouflage moon boots they'd be quaking in if they were Aidan! Yep, I'm "that" kind of mom, the kind that let's my 4 year old wear his pajamas out the door and just grin and bear it!
Feeling a little shy... Sometimes wearing a head band just makes you feel that way.

Add a pair of camouflage moon boots to this outfit and I say you are ready for preschool my little buddy! I wonder what Aidan's teachers think when he rolls in?

Silly, silly boy.
