Does it get any better than this??

Bluebird skies, great company, new(ish) snow and a fun mountain all lead to a lot of fun for the Kearneys. We met up with some friends for some Sunday skiing and had a great time. Our children are currently cross-eyed and staring at the wall with exhaustion... Perfect! (Although, Ryan and I are right there with them!)

These two little hot dogs hit the slopes. Unfortunately, no pictures were taken of the youngest skiier on the mountain (yes people, Payton skiied today at 19 months!!!). Aidan had his first lift chair ride and is hooked.

Oh how I love this blonde little dude! His toe-head gives me hope that maybe some people think my hair color is natural. On second thought, probably not!

This picture was taken right before Aidan managed to break ANOTHER one of our cameras. Daddy enjoying a "daddy beverage." Teaching a crazy 3 year old to ski is not an easy task, hence the "daddy beverage!"

Little skiiers gearing up for fun day on the mountain. Morgan and Ryder continue to amaze us all...

The lovely Ms. Montano and Mr. Ramstad joined in on the fun, proving once again that Huskies and Cougars can co-exist peacefully. (Go DAWGS!)

Aidan loves Ms. Payton. It was pretty fun to overhear Aidan trying to communicate with Payton using his best "baby talk."

Who says tail-gates are only for sporting events? The crew enjoying some good food, brew and laughs. Thank you Boise friends for ANOTHER fun adventure!

Weekend Fun!

We had a great weekend, seeing friends from Seattle and enjoying the gorgeous weather! We took a Sunday afternoon bike ride along the river to get some lunch at the Ram...

To know Aidan is to know that he LOVES his sister... Here he is trying to give her some love. It was right after this that Aidan went under the table, poked his head out from under the table and reported, "Nope, there isn't any poop down there!" Boy was I happy to hear that, nothing worse than eating on a table with poop at your feet!

Here's Aidan telling Ryan "secrets." The secrets were composed of this, "Robin, robin, digger, dump truck."
The handsome father/husband....
I am always trying to get a picture of me with the kids so the kids don't look back someday and wonder where the heck I was all those years (behind the camera actually!). We told Aidan to smile nicely and this is what we got. It's a wonder we don't sign him up to be a child-model with all these stellar poses he has...

Sage International Charter School it is!!

After interviews, meetings, a lot of research and ultimately using our gut instincts, we've finally decided upon a school for Ms. Morgan (and eventually Aidan)! We are really excited about this educational opportunity for our little ones! Not only do we think this is going to be a phenomenal learning experience, but they made us feel the most comfortable about Morgan's food allergies and they were the first to highlight the importance of her feeling "just like everyone else."

Meet my son, Napolean.

I don't know when or how Aidan decided to become a teenager, but he did. All of a sudden, everything we do, results in him exhibiting a sigh of absolute disgust. Then in true teenager fashion, he goes to his room and slams the door. His sigh of disgust, is EXACTLY like the sigh made famous by Napolean Dynamite. It's pretty hysterical. My favorite is when he does his, "UUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHH," then says "Just tell the truth!" Usually, the "tell the truth" is in response to me saying something like, "you need to eat dinner" or "wash your hands."

Mommy, am I crazy?

Morgan recently asked me if she was crazy. I had to answer, "Why yes, Morgan, you are!" But we wouldn't want her any other way....

Welcome to the "dodo" free zone!

Ryan and I were beginning to think that in 15 years, we'd be sitting in a high school auditorium, with tears welling up as we see our "baby" cross the stage to accept his diploma... All with a pacifier (or dodo as Aidan calls it) attached to his gown. His love affair with his beloved dodo has been intense and long lasting, however, this past Sunday morning (amidst multiple empty threats that the dodo fairy was going to come and take it) Aidan told me he wanted to throw away his dodo and go to "Toy Story" aka Toys R' Us to get some "diggers" in exchange. This turned out to be a very lucky turn of events from me because I had the flu (yes, THAT kind of flu, no more will I be frustrated when our kids can't make it to the bathroom to throw up! Yes, that was too much information!) and Ryan had taken Morgan up for a day of skiing. So needless to say, I was very glad that Aidan was preoccupied with his new diggers while I huddled on the couch, watching reruns of "16 and pregnant" on MTV. (Even while sick, I have bad taste in TV).

Houston, we've got a reader!

Yep, that's right, Ms. Morgan has decided that she's tired of listening to Ryan and I read to her at night, so she's taken matters into her own hands. Unfortunately, we packed up the majority of her books while we are in our "temporary" home, so we've been stocking up at the library once a week to get new books. This week her books of choice were ones that she can read herself and SHE'S DOING IT! It's so exciting, can you tell I'm a little bit proud?

I love that smile! She's a little proud of herself too. As for other educational news, we entered Morgan into a lottery for a new charter school they are starting in Boise and she was selected to begin kindergarten there! We haven't decided 100% to do this school versus regular public school education, but we feel fortunate to have this potential opportunity at our hands! I've attended a town meeting regarding the curriculum and it sounds like it will be right up Morgan's alley. www. sageinternationalschool.org
