Welp. Another day, another lockdown. You'd think I would have had PLENTY of time to update all summer and fall, but somehow even in the land of COVID, it was a blur. It wasn't quite the summer we were expecting, but it really wasn't too bad after all... Especially as we are looking at shorter, colder days approach, what I wouldn't give for a little deck time!
It really doesn't matter what is happening or how old she gets, but God, she entertains us....
Oh these two. People frequently try to "feel" for me having two teenagers in the time of COVID, but I tell you what. These two are incredible. The endless ping pong games, the silly entertainment they give us, sometimes I wish COVID lockdowns don't end so I can squeeze more time in with them.
We decided to really go big with the house improvements and get a new deck! Sadly, no pictures of Baylee's new boyfriend, Mike, the deck guy. She was a fan...
Not sure what is happening in this picture, but this was a familiar view this summer!
So was this.
And so was this. While I love lockdown, maybe my kids don't?
Sign time!
Oh and thank God for the boat. So much boat time!
Baylee doesn't need a life jacket, but it sure is fun to watch her try to swim with one. Maybe we were more bored this summer than I thought we were...
Birthday hike for me!
And a birthday dinner! Pretty much the first and last time I was in a restaurant, but it was sweet while it lasted!
And Grandma Debi wrote a book!
More boat time with my gals....
Happy Father's Day nerds.(Surprised Gary Busey and his boyfriend with a trip to McCall).
Luckily these super cool glasses came in time for the trip.
Oh the gasoline debacle on the way to McCall. See in the background the nice, well meaning woman who accidentally spilled gasoline EVERYWHERE and ALL OVER herself. She's not crying, you are crying. (It even got in her mouth). Clearly we are out of "travel" practice.
But then the gasoline debacle was replaced by the bag debacle. As in Morgan forgot hers. We made some attempts to buy some replacement clothes, but turns out the grocery store in McCall is NOT where you buy clothes, who knew?
McCall boat time!
Sammy Dixie and her gals!
Such fun!
Then the parents decided to take off for some adult beverage time at the marina.
Late night shenanigans.
Remember that one time a biker gang wanted/tried to kill Jeremy? Yeah, me too.
Back to les Bois and volunteer time! Friends who volunteer together....
And more boat. Have I said "thank God for the boat" yet?
She may be getting old and she may be getting beautiful, but don't worry, she still drools.
My buddy.
Fourth of July float!
Such fun!
We have gotten so lazy these days.
Sometimes I like to do COVID screenings at work. You know there are shortages when they want me involved in something like that!
A boy and his gal.
Another boy and his gal.
Aidan Kearney.
And then it was off to Stanley. I take this exact same picture every year and every year I say how this picture does not do this view justice.
A little quick hike with my boy!
There's our cabin!
So, so, so many floats!
Baylee HATED all of this attention.
Just kidding, she didn't hate it all .
La Familia
La kiddos
The bar scene left the bar scene and hit the river. There was a lot of river time this summer!
Who knew that a karaoke microphone works on a boat. Oh does it work!
This is where the kids are at, mentally. They went to the store to get some snacks and came home with this. Agreed.
And then it was time for a little backpacking trip to Born Lake!
Quite easily the best day ever. Wine, book, alpine lake, family.
A very practiced and skillful wonky eye.
Even wonkier.
Out of order, but first day virtual school! 10th grade and 8th grade (GULP)
Business (kind of) up top, relax on the bottom.
But back to Born lake camping trip.
Baylee in her happiest place of all.
Oh hey guy.
So much fishing and so much success!
Thank you Idaho! I can't imagine a better place to be locked down!
