The Kearney's Got Faith...

We just returned from an AMAZING event! So much fun and so inspiring.... 2nd Annual "Robie's Got Faith." It started out as an uncle who run the Robie every year (a half marathon literally up the side of a mountain, crazy!). His niece, Faith, had recently been diagnosed with cancer and seeing his family struggle, he decided to do something and organized an event the day after Robie, called "Robie's Got Faith." There's a one mile kid's run, 5k and 10k. Last year almost $50,000 was raised for sweet Faith's family and this year, Ms. Lula Coe, battling stage IV Wilms Cancer in her lungs. I had the privilege of meeting Ms. Lula a couple of weeks ago while bringing dinner to her family and she stole my heart... I didn't realize that she was a twin or that she had to leave her three brothers and dad behind while she temporarily relocated to Salt Lake City while in the fight for her life... Unreal. In a week filled with such tragedy and sadness, it felt great to do something good and to see this community rally around a special little 9 year old...
All bibbed up and ready to RUN!

This guy was ready to SPRINT!

BSU players? Yes please say the Kearney kids...

Ms. Lula with the BSU football team before the start. What a sweet pea!

And little Ms. Faith, do little people get any cuter! She was wearing the cutest little cape. Currently in remission from leukemia.

I had to beg them not to sprint the first half mile. Mom has rabbited too many races to let the kids have to deal with that kind of pain!

Look at that boy, edible!

On to the finish!

Not far behind big sister!

An eleven minute mile? We'll take that!!! Next year, Morgan and I are gearing up for the 5k.

So, so happy!

Always happy to have face painting!

Go Broncos!

The next time we'll be at Veteran's Memorial Park will be Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward a Cure. Lots of great things happen at this park!

Two more!

I forgot these two pictures from AZ...

I like this blue, eyed Irish boy... A lot.

I don't know why, but I love this picture. So very Ryan.

What is this the face of?

This is the face of a little soccer star who scored THREE outstanding goals today! You might think she must have good coaches? Or maybe she was just super energetic from a good night's sleep? Or maybe it's all the practicing with her brother? No my friends, Eye of the Tiger Interpretive Dance. Yes, I'll take responsibility for that... We have a new tradition.  (Brother also scored three goals, he wasn't an Eye of the Tiger recipient since he left for the field before the performance. I can't take credit for that one, but next week...)

AZ Time!

We just returned from a F*A*N*T*A*S*T*I*C time in Arizona. Ryan won his sales awards trip AGAIN. I couldn't be prouder. The company really outdid themselves again and it really was a gorgeous trip. At the awards dinner, it was mentioned that the award winners were in the top 5% in the nation and only 60 recipients out of thousands were awarded. My other proud moment was at dinner, when another employee who has been in the industry over 30 years and near retirement asked me how old Ryan is. He said he couldn't believe that someone that young won this award, since he was almost retiring and this was his first time. I left out that this was Ry's fourth awards trip!  I told you I married well! Congratulations Mr. Kearney!!!

After the celebration in Scottsdale, we spent some time in Sedona. Breathtakingly beautiful! As was the beer flight and wine tasting we participated in... Who knew the lead singer of Tool made such great wine? Now we know.

There wasn't any one direction didn't have stunning views!

We tried our very best to counteract the gluttony that occurred in Scottsdale. Nope, not successful!

At around this point, I started to feel like we were on set for Crocodile Dundee, minus the reaaaallllyyy loud East Coast ladies. Seriously, your kids were RIGHT next to you, no need to shout and whoop it up. Goodness, I'm getting old.

I couldn't even put my toe in this water, frigid. Ryan wins the polar bear challenge. Why he did this, no idea.

Maybe it was the Coronita's?

Frank Lloyd Wright designed this little ditty. We enjoyed touring the scenery on a Tuesday with the rest of the retired folk.

Not only did we not really want our picture taken, but we were told to kiss. Thanks random retired guy. We enjoyed hearing about how you still get to kiss the ladies too. Awesome.

Now to the gluttonous part of our trip. This was my view, leaving the spa after one of my treatments, noodle bodied and happy.
And this was my favorite little ass. Yep, this donkey brought us beer on a cooler that was strapped to his side all night. I blame my next day headache on you little donkey!

The company left little treats in our room while we were out and about. Hello, Tiffany's? Yes!!! But this treat was a margarita, all ready to be shaken before dinner.

One of our "activities" was a chili/salsa competition. I tried to skip out but was glad I didn't, actually very fun!

Nothing tempts a spirit like chili on an 88 degree day!! Don't worry, we didn't actually eat it.

But we did WIN!

Poor Ryan, it never fails on these trips that he has to do work while I get to have fun.

Chili cook off medal at awards dinner? Why not? Don't worry, he took it off after this picture!

After awards dinner fun!

You know how people taking pictures of themselves in mirrors? It drives me crazy. So here's my version of looking good.

Room service every morning. I could get used to that...

We hit a whole new level of gluttony on Saturday. Spa treatments all morning and literally sat by the pool until dinner at 8. I had these wonderful thoughts of working out, instead this cucumber mojito got ordered? And they kept coming. Bummer.

And Ryan worked some more.

We eventually did get showered though and went to an amazing dinner. Too bad we both started laughing so hard at one point that we were crying. Yes, crying. You can't take the two of us anywhere!

View from Starbucks patio on our last day, sniff sniff.

But we had these signs to come home too. Gluttony is great, but having two little darling people to love on takes the cake any day!

And we missed them like crazy. The Boston bombings happened on Monday. I thanked God for my lack of training before Portland and resulting slow speed and just wanted to get home and squeeze those babes.... And squeeze them we did.
