I know I am a nerd for devoting an entire blog entry about my love for Brett Dennen, but no one's ever accused me of being cool, so what the heck. Anyway, if you know me very well, you know that I have a big obsession with Brett Dennen. I know, also nerdy for a married mother of 2 in her mid-30's to have an obsession with a rock star. But I do, I just love his music and LOVE his concerts. Last night Ryan and I celebrated my birthday a little early with sushi and front row at Brett Dennen! The show did not disappoint, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic! AND we almost got backstage (not really, we were shooed out of there quicker than I really thought possible). How I will survive another year without my Brett D. fix is a mystery to me....

Cousins!!!
We had a great visit from the Fosseen crew for Memorial Day Weekend! Unfortunately, my camera's battery charger was missing for most of visit so I wasn't able to get as many pictures as I would have liked (it must be vacationing with some missing Ray LaMontagne tickets!) A great time was had by all!!!

Just in Case...
With all of these blog entries about Morgan's end of the year activities, you may be asking yourself, "What has Aidan been up to?" Well, just the same old, same old for this guy.
Yep, he's in a speedo in our backyard. No, we did not purposefully buy our son a speedo, but it's a reusable swim diaper that Aidan just can't seem to part ways with. Can't blame you buddy. When you've got a body like that, you've got to flaunt it!
Oh and add in a little face painting at the neighborhood party. Not sure what he had painted on his face, but it sure is cool. A couple of 10 year old neighbor kids were manning the face painting booth and one of the girls asked Aidan if he cared whether or not the person doing the face painting did a good job. Obviously, Aidan answered that he didn't care!
Cheese! Aidan asked me after I took this picture if it turned out "cool." Yep, it sure did!

She Was Runnniiinnnggg....
Okay, I promise this is Morgan's last big event for the week and for a while! Morgan and Ryder competed in their second "kid race" and what fun it was! Mommy even got in the mix, thankfully there was a pool and cocktails after the finish line because this kid ran fast and I was tired!
10 hours later and yes, Morgan is STILL wearing her metal. Big time stuff!
Look at this girl!!!! I ran with her the entire race until some race official started yelling at me, "NO PARENTS, GET OFF THE COURSE." Really, race lady? She's 6, she was shaking with fear because you had people in costumes at the start line. That tells me she isn't ready to run an entire mile by herself. AND she has asthma. So be quiet race lady. There, I feel better now.
Look at her go! She ran the mile in 12 minutes, whoop whoop! The 6 year old girls started in the back of the pack and she was passing the "big kids" like it was nothing. Also notice she's wearing her brother's shorts, it's officially a racing tradition since this is the 2nd time she's done this!
Mylie, our adorable neighbor, was at the start line. She calmed a lot of the "costumed characters" fears. We spent the rest of the day and evening at the Bordner's new fun locale for a great finish to a fantastic day.

Hip Hop You Don't Stop!
In addition to the big graduation, Morgan also had her end of the year performance for her Hip Hop class that she took through Ballet Idaho. I have to admit, I've stolen some moves from these girls...
Again on the far left... Morgan was pretty, no REALLY excited that she was the "leader" and got to lead the rest of the girls out onto the stage. Simple but important pleasures when you are 6!
Dancing machines!

The Graduate!
Big news in the Kearney house, we've got a first grader! Yep, Ms. Morgan completed kindergarten with flying colors. I was constantly blown away this past year with how much Morgan was learning and what a love of learning she developed! I was also blown away that last night, Morgan spent a good solid hour crying, sobbing tears that she didn't want the school year to end and didn't want to leave her beloved Mrs. Zwolfer. Sage International has turned out to be an incredible place where little learners are doing some pretty spectacular things, what a lucky leap of faith this was for us!
Buddies! Petra (hugging little sister), Abbie and Morgan have been giggling since preschool (or "pretty school" if you are Morgan when she was 4 years old).
And Mrs. Zwolfer! What an amazing teacher, who not only inspired, calmed and created but did an amazing job keeping Morgan included in activities and went way, way, way out of her way to communicate with us so Morgan could be safe. We are forever in debt! And proving once again, teachers really do have the most important job in the world and probably get the least amount of thanks (at least financially!)
