Closing out 2019!

Totally normal to be blogging about 2019 when it’s almost halfway through 2020. Maybe I’m just feeling nostalgia for the good ole days of the 2019, since 2020 has been a bit of a crapper. Or maybe I just have a plethora of free time, since all my pre-global pandemic activities are off the table...

These pictures are really out of order and “Pandemic Sarah” has no patience for order.

You know you have a little brother when you have a a Christmas present wrapped in 900 layers of duct tape.... Thanks Aidan!

After Christmas, it was off to Driggs to ski Grand Targhee with my favorite newly minted 40 year olds, Jed and Laura!

  

And then here we are before Christmas! Nothing says soccer like Portland in December! But a tour of Providence Park (while cold) was worth it!

And my favorite part of travel tournaments, time with this lovely lady....

But yeah, 8 pm game in Portland in December, let’s talk about that.... (Actually, Pandemic Sarah isn’t supposed to complain about cold games anymore since cold games are much, much better than no games!)

Back to Targhee... The ski crew, such fun. Actually such fun that New Years 2021 is already booked. Won’t be sad to say buuuuhhh-bye 2020.

And back to that gift, still opening...

We didn’t really know these girls at this time, but now we do and it’s nothing but love for these ladies!

Back to Christmas! Aidan was a stellar wrapper, so impressed....

And to Ryan’s party! I snuck in a pre-Christmas/pre-Ryan’s birthday celebration. So.much.fun. Sadly NO good pictures of the party, that’s my sign I had fun. 

Fall Haps... Part Deux

Not gonna lie, Fall 2019 was a BLUR! I think it last all of 20 seconds. But here we go on a recap!

Morgan is a licensed driver! And one of the benefits of that is that she can drop off her date night-ing parents!

But that doesn't mean that we aren't still on a super cold soccer field at all hours of the night and morning watching her. That's what love is folks.

A sweet pea who still snuggles with her mom, yes please!

The little lady right behind me is a future BRONCO! Having my niece live in my city = AWESOME.

I'm not sure who is more excited about Noelle moving to Boise, Morgan or me. 

Love, love, love!

I got snapchat, let me tell you. Life is better with this thing.

And then it was off for a road trip to California for what, what? Soccer. Yes, always bet on it being related to soccer.

The pre-soccer tournament time was beyond. Newport Beach,  I love you so!

Beach games, sunshine, these three: Happy Place!

After Newport, it was un-sunny San Diego for a visit with Ryan's family and the San Diego Zoo! Despite less than optimal weather, the zoo (and company) did not disappoint!

And then it was time for Thanksgiving. What do you do when you are in Yorba Linda, CA; there is a torrential downpour; you have not made dinner reservations; DENNYS! Yep, I said Denny's. That happened.

And then what do you do when your soccer player is at a team dinner? FROZEN! I'm kidding, we didn't see Frozen, but who passes up a chance for a  Frozen pic? Not us.... 

So proud of this. New team, played so hard and pretty sweet to boot.

A fantastic group of girls, love watching them play!

Southern California, why did you forsake us? Cold, rainy weather, not cool CA, not cool.

And just so you don't think we are soccer obsessed... There's basketball. You might not be able to see the East Junior High team since they are in camouflaged uniforms. Ummmm yeah.... But another season down! Next up Aidan Kearney! 

Fall 2019 Haps....

Aidan is the midst of a challenging and great soccer season. I'm a broken and boring record about how much I adore these boys and their parents, just the best! The boys have a new coach this year, who is keeping them on their A game. But they are also playing at u14 level, even though technically, they are u13. We have found, the incredibly hard way, that there is a MASSIVE difference between 12 year old and 13 year old boys. I swear the other teams has a bunch of dads out there playing our little guys. But our boys are playing hard and doing so well.... 

 So well in fact, GEM STATE CHAMPIONS!

 And this little punky got her driver's license. Yep, driver's license! Except no driving at night, so mom and dad are still on the hook for evening excursions.

 A hard earned dip in the Hulquists pool at Gem State Championships! And a great excuse for the parents to spend even more time together.....

 Before the end of boating season, Aidan mastered the art of wakeboarding!

 And Baylee continued to work on developing her fish gills.

 Sweet 15.

 And sweet she is. This kid keeps me laughing each and every day.... 

 This guy.... Did I mention he made the golf team? And did I mention 2nd in City? Yep. Big deal, very big deal. Although he won't give much information and we weren't allowed to attend. Big deal!

 Sometimes you get ride through the neighborhood standing up through the sun roof when you make it into the top 4 of your golf team. 

 Meet Baylee, my 70 pound lab dog.

 And meet Morgan. My most favorite pizza date ever. 

 A couple of other moms and I trekked way out of my 5 mile travelling radius to take 14 kids to Haunted World. 

 And I quickly learned that if Morgan keeps this group of friends, everything will be just fine. They were polite, silly, funny and really an incredible group of kids.

 More of the Gem State Champ. Proud of this kid and how hard he works at this sport.... 

 Morgan's latest uniform is the "Comfy." Sometimes Aidan gets to get comfy too.... 

 Last high school game celebration! 

 And a girlfriend celebration. We really had nothing to celebrate aside from how much fun we have together.... 

 Happy Halloween! Wig compliments of Dolly. Of course she wore a wig over to our house. 

And why can't Baylee get dressed up too. A lady has to keep her hands warm.....
